Mr. Natapon Khamthakrue, Assistant Managing Director of Securities Analysis at Yuanta Securities (Thailand), stated that the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index closed slightly higher this morning by 0.02%, or 0.29 points, to 1,253.83 points, driven by the upbeat investment atmosphere in Asian equities and a weakened U.S. dollar.
As for the government’s announcement of parliament dissolution, historical data shows that the stock market tends to react positively with a 1% rise, then softens while awaiting the election timeline. During the period between parliament dissolution and the election, the market is expected to move sideways for a while.
Regarding the ongoing tension at the Thai-Cambodian border, tonight, U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak by phone with caretaker Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Clarity on this matter is still awaited. As a result, there has been some profit-taking in stocks such as AOT, DELTA, and ADVANC.
However, there has also been rotation into global play stocks, particularly the Siam Cement PCL (SET: SCC). Meanwhile, VGI PCL (SET: VGI) and Plan B Media PCL (SET: PLANB) have rebounded due to anticipated increased media spending during the election period.
For the afternoon outlook, the market is expected to trade sideways with a downward bias due to the lack of supporting factors. The first support level is at 1,250 points, followed by 1,240 points, with resistance at 1,260–1,265 points.

- Advanced Info Service PCL (SET: ADVANC): Trading value THB 1.04 billion, closed at THB 306.00 per share, down THB 4.00 or 1.29%.
- SCB X PCL (SET: SCB): Trading value THB 971.15 million, closed at THB 133.50 per share, up THB 0.50 or 0.38%.
