AOT Rolls Out Incentives to Boost International Flights and Passenger Numbers in 2026

Ms. Paweena Jariyathitipong, Senior Executive Vice President of Engineering and Construction, and Acting President of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (SET: AOT), stated that AOT has launched an aviation market promotion project to stimulate the aviation and tourism industries, with a focus on attracting more tourists from international markets, especially the Chinese market, to travel to Thailand. The aim is to support sustainable recovery and increase the number of flights and passengers passing through AOT’s airports.

Ms. Paweena stated that, according to studies on opportunities to increase international flights passing through the six airports under AOT’s management, the company has implemented aviation market promotion measures at all six airports. These measures include providing discounts on aeronautical charges and supporting incentives for airlines operating replacement flights for returned slots.

The AOT board approved these measures at the meeting on December 24, 2025, setting the operational period from 1 January to 28 March 2026. The aim is to encourage airlines to more quickly decide to operate flights to Thailand, reduce revenue loss from the cancellation of airline slots, and increase AOT’s market share in the aviation sector.

Additionally, these measures will help increase the number of international passengers traveling through AOT’s airports. Not only do they support the return of flights and passengers, but they also contribute to sustainable slot management, strengthen market structure, and lay a solid foundation for the long-term development of the aviation industry.

Ms. Paweena concluded that these measures will help boost the number of international flights and passengers during the high season, generating positive effects for tourism, employment, and national income. She also emphasized AOT’s pivotal role in driving Thailand’s economy sustainably through the aviation industry.
