SET Index Trends Upward amid Data Center Sentiment and Easing Geopolitics

Mr. Weerawat Wirojphoka, Senior Director of FSS International Investment Advisory Securities (FSSIA), stated that the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index closed the morning session higher by 0.61%, or 8.00 points, at 1,319.64 points, with DELTA, ADVANC, and GULF, stocks under the Data Center theme, providing support for the index.

Meanwhile, TRUE continued to decline slightly after yesterday’s sharp 15% drop, dragging the index down by 5 points; however, before the market closed in the morning session, there was a rebound into positive territory.

Regarding international factors, tensions have eased in the short term after the U.S. President Donald Trump adopted a softer stance concerning Greenland, reducing geopolitical stress. However, the market remains cautious, uncertain about potential future developments, and wary that Trump may trigger new geopolitical conflicts. As a result, investors shifted away from risk toward safe-haven assets, supporting gold prices to reach a new high.

In the afternoon, the market is expected to continue moving sideways to sideways up, with the index likely to remain steady and unlikely to see a sharp decline. Resistance is expected at 1,330–1,345 points, and support is in the range of 1,300–1,305 points.
