Land and Houses Fund Management Co., Ltd. (LHFUND) stated that the space economy is rapidly becoming one of the major driving forces of the global economy, thanks to significant accelerated growth and an increasing role of the private sector. Government agencies such as NASA serve as catalysts, paving the way for private investment expansion.
This has led to space technology advancing beyond merely exploration and emerging as a strategic resource, playing vital roles in the economy, security, disaster management, and driving ESG goals. The World Economic Forum expects industries related to the space economy to grow at an average of around 9% per year during 2023–2035, reflecting its structural long-term growth potential.
A key turning point in the “New Space Economy” is the revolution in the cost of space access, thanks to a dramatic reduction in rocket launch costs as a result of reusable rockets technology, advanced materials, and efficient manufacturing processes.
Simultaneously, the increasing launches of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites by the global private sector are enhancing low-latency communication, high-speed internet, environmental monitoring, and IoT capabilities, enabling the genuine commercialization of space. This is shifting the focus from “space for exploration” to “space for business and security applications.”
For investment support factors, the frequency of global rocket launches has clearly increased. In 2025, as many as 329 rocket launches to orbit were attempted, setting a new record. This reflects the rising demand from both public and private sectors, coupled with the U.S. government elevating space as strategic infrastructure through executive orders and increased defense budgets. As a result, the space industry has become part of the modern national defense system and a crucial driver of the long-term Space Ecosystem.
LHFUND recommends the LHSPACE fund, the first fund in Thailand targeting genuine investment in the space economy. It is an active fund, selecting quality stocks throughout the space industry value chain, from infrastructure and technology to commercial and security applications, through the master fund Neuberger Berman Next Generation Space Economy Fund.
The fund is recommended for gradual accumulation as a satellite allocation in investment portfolios to enhance diversification into long-term growth themes, within an appropriately risk-managed framework.
