Bangkok Airways, BTS and Stecon Jointly Sign Agreement for U-Tapao Airport and Aviation City Development

U-Tapao International Aviation Co., Ltd. (UTA), a collaboration of three leading organizations: Bangkok Airways PCL (SET: BA), BTS Group Holdings PCL (SET: BTS), and Stecon Group PCL (SET: STECON), as the private sector driving force behind the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, has organized a contract management agreement signing ceremony for the joint investment project to develop U-Tapao Airport and the Eastern Airport City.

This ceremony marks the formal commencement of the project in cooperation with the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO). The signing was attended by Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary-General of the EECO, Mr. Kavin Kanjanapas, and Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, directors of UTA, at the Auditorium Room, BTS Visionary Park Building.

This collaboration represents a significant step between the public and private sectors to promote U-Tapao Airport toward becoming a modern “Eastern Airport City” and a core strategic mechanism to drive Thailand’s economy in the future. The EECO plans to issue the Notice to Proceed (NTP) to UTA within February 2026, in order to kickstart project development in a concrete manner according to the specified timeline.

After receiving the NTP, UTA plans to focus on and expedite the development of essential infrastructure for construction, both for the Airport City section and the main infrastructure. The initial project is expected to commence at the end of this year and will involve property development on more than 6,500 rai of land. The objective is to stimulate passenger volume and attract continuous investment, instilling confidence in investors and enhancing the investment potential in the EEC area for sustainable growth.
