PTT Group Subsidiaries Affirm Transparency and Full Cooperation amidst State Fuel Investigations

In a significant move to bolster public confidence, three major subsidiaries of the PTT Group—IRPC, PTTGC, and Thai Oil—have issued individual statements affirming their full cooperation with government investigations into fuel management during recent periods of crisis. These announcements come as the Ministry of Energy, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), and the Royal Thai Police scrutinise the allocation, transport, and supply of fuel.

IRPC Public Company Limited (SET: IRPC) has officially addressed the state’s probe into fuel management during past crisis situations. The company stated it is providing all necessary information, documents, and statistical data to the authorities to ensure a fair and transparent fact-finding process. IRPC maintains that its refinery operations adhere to international standards, with rigorous systems for recording the intake and outflow of fuel that can be audited retroactively. The company emphasised its commitment to good governance and its role in maintaining continuous fuel delivery to meet domestic demand.

PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (SET: PTTGC) has moved to clarify its position regarding severe fuel shortages reported at service stations during the Middle East crisis. As a “Section 7” fuel trader, PTTGC highlighted that it operates solely as a refiner and seller of finished oil at the refinery gate, without owning any service stations or transport systems in the downstream supply chain.

The company firmly denied any involvement in hoarding or delaying sales, asserting that all deliveries were made according to pre-set plans. PTTGC is sharing its operational statistics with the state to demonstrate that its production and distribution remained consistent to protect the country’s energy security.

Thai Oil Public Company Limited (SET: TOP) has also confirmed its readiness for state scrutiny regarding the allocation and transportation of fuel. The company is actively collaborating with the Ministry of Energy, the DSI, and the Royal Thai Police by submitting detailed documentation for their review.

TOP maintains that its refinery processes—including production, storage, and delivery—are governed by strict recording systems and high standards. The refiner underscored that its primary mission remains the maintenance of national energy stability, ensuring that fuel was supplied continuously to the public and the economic sector even during volatile periods.

The unified response from these PTT Group subsidiaries highlights a collective commitment to transparency and corporate social responsibility. By providing full access to their data, the companies expressed confidence that the state’s investigation will be conducted based on facts and fairness, ultimately serving the best interests of the Thai public and the nation’s economy.
