On Friday, the share price of Jasmine International Public Company Limited (SET: JAS) at the time of 11:10 a.m. was at THB 1.27, a THB 0.03 or 2.42% increase with a total trading value of THB 182.80 million.
Meanwhile, the share price of Mono Next Public Company Limited (SET: MONO) at the same time was at THB 0.96, a THB 0.01 or 1.05% increase with a total trading value of THB 15.06 million.
The share prices of JAS and MONO surged, supported by positive factors after the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announced the removal of the trading halt “H” sign from JAS securities. This took effect from the morning trading session on June 12, after the company had fully disclosed key information to the SET, allowing JAS to resume normal trading.
Previously, the SET had placed the H sign on JAS due to the pending disclosure of significant information that could affect shareholders’ and investors’ decisions, prior to the company’s revealing the details regarding the acquisition of the FIFA Multi-Tournament Broadcast Rights.
JAS disclosed that its Board of Directors’ Meeting No. 8/2026, held on June 11, 2026, resolved to approve the company’s acquisition of the FIFA Multi-Tournament Broadcast Rights for FIFA football tournaments for a total period of 4 years, from 2026 to 2030. This includes the 2026 and 2030 FIFA World Cups.
The total value of this transaction is $70 million, granting JAS the exclusive broadcasting rights in Thailand. The company stated that this acquisition aligns with its business policies and operational plans to strengthen its media and sports content business, as well as to enhance opportunities for revenue generation from advertising, marketing, sponsorship, and related services.
The broadcast rights acquired by JAS covered 16 major FIFA events, such as all 104 matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 with comprehensive multi-platform rights, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, FIFA Futsal World Cup 2028, various FIFA youth tournaments for both male and female categories, as well as the FIFA World Cup 2030.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will take place between June 11 and July 19, 2026, with the United States, Canada, and Mexico as co-hosts. This will be the first World Cup featuring 48 teams. This deal is seen as a positive factor for JAS’s sports media and content business direction, including opportunities to expand its audience and subscriber base through the Monomax platform in the future.
