PLANB Invests THB7.2 Billion for 11% Stake in IT Retail Giant ‘COM7’

On 30 June 2026, Plan B Media Public Company Limited (SET: PLANB) announced a major strategic move into the technology retail sector. The company’s Board of Directors has approved an investment in the ordinary shares of COM7 Public Company Limited (SET: COM7) for a total of not exceeding 263 million shares, representing 11.01% of COM7’s total issued and paid-up shares.

The total investment value is capped at THB 7,219 million. As of the close of business on 30 June 2026, PLANB has already reached its target holding of 263 million shares through trading on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and other appropriate methods.

PLANB is financing this acquisition primarily through loans from financial institutions. The company has expressed confidence that this financing arrangement will not have a material adverse effect on its liquidity or normal operations. While PLANB is not restricted from paying its own dividends under the loan terms, it is obligated to use a portion of the dividends received from COM7 to repay the debt.

The Board of Directors unanimously approved the deal, citing COM7’s position as a leading IT and digital equipment retailer with a nationwide network including well-known brands such as BaNANA and Studio7. PLANB expects this investment to:

  • Generate long-term returns through dividends.
  • Leverage COM7’s growing ecosystem, which now includes higher value-added services like credit and EV-related businesses.
  • Create opportunities for business collaboration to enhance the capabilities and value of both companies.
