Finansia Highlights Four Big-Caps as Thai Bourse Poises for Rebound

Mr. Kantara Ladawan na Ayutthaya, Executive Director of Finansia Syrus Securities, stated in the “Kaohoon” program on July 31, 2026, that the Thai stock market may potentially rebound in line with the movements of international markets, following a strong recovery in both the U.S. and South Korean stock markets, particularly in the technology and semiconductor sectors.

He assessed that the SET Index has a chance to climb back to around 1,608 points and could gradually recover the losses from the previous two sessions if positive sentiment in international markets persists and there is a continued foreign funds inflow into the Thai market in the afternoon session.

However, the rebound in the artificial intelligence and chip sectors in the U.S. and South Korea may only be a technical rebound after significant previous declines. It remains to be seen whether these stocks can return to a sustained uptrend.

Regarding the banking sector, Mr. Kantara remarked that several foreign securities firms have upgraded recommendations and target prices, reflecting a positive outlook for the Thai economy, thereby boosting overall market confidence. This is because bank performance is directly linked to domestic economic conditions.

Nevertheless, investors should use technical indicators to time their investments and avoid chasing stocks after steep rises. Even if long-term fundamentals remain strong, stock prices may undergo consolidation. FSS recommends waiting for pullbacks to gradually accumulate big-cap bank stocks, namely BBL and KBANK.

As for telecom stocks, Mr. Kantara noted that the fundamentals of ADVANC and TRUE have clearly improved, and their share prices are in an uptrend. These big-cap stocks are likely to help support the Thai bourse’s upward momentum in the future.

Hospital stocks remain volatile due to external factors, especially the ongoing Middle East conflict, which could affect the number of international patients. Investors are thus advised to select stocks with strong fundamentals and remaining upside potential.

For the 2Q26 listed company earnings, preliminary results are better than analysts’ expectations, a positive signal that could lead to upward revisions in profit forecasts or target prices for certain stocks in the near term.

Mr. Kantara added that investors should wait for opportunities to invest in stocks with strong fundamentals, particularly big-cap stocks, as these stand to benefit from foreign fund inflows into the Thai stock market.

Domestically, political factors remain stable despite occasional turbulence, with the government maintaining enough support in parliament. Economic stimulus measures are appropriately aligned without imposing an excessive fiscal burden. There are also continuing measures supporting tourism, savings, and investment, which will bode well for the economy and liquidity in the capital market.
