On Thursday, Thailand’s SET Index closed the morning trading session at 1,617.25 points, showing an increase of 4.63 points or 0.29%, with a trading value of THB 43.95 billion.
FSS International Investment Advisory Securities (FSSIA) wrote that the Thai stock market moved in the positive territory this morning, supported by both international and domestic factors. On the international front, the U.S. economic data showed inflation slowing in line with expectations, increasing the likelihood that the Federal Reserve will maintain its current interest rate at its September meeting.
Domestically, market sentiment was buoyed by corporate earnings that have generally exceeded estimates by approximately 9-10%, with earnings per share forecasts continuing to be revised upwards. This has spurred speculative buying in stocks following their strong earnings, especially in the electronics components sector this morning, which tracked gains in overseas technology stocks.
Looking ahead to the afternoon session, FSSIA expects the index to remain in the positive territory, with a projected support range of 1,610-1,606 points and resistance between 1,620-1,630 points.
