The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announced that its Board of Governors, at a meeting on July 15, 2026, resolved to appoint Benjarong Suwankiri as Senior Executive Vice President (Chief Strategy & Finance Officer), effective October 1, 2026.
SET President Asadej Kongsiri said that SET is confident that Benjarong will be a key driving force in developing and setting the organization’s business strategy, keeping it ahead of evolving market dynamics, and overseeing strategy, financial and investment management, and business development and sustainability. His extensive experience in public policy, coupled with a strong track record of working with both public- and private-sector stakeholders in finance and investment, will be invaluable in advancing SET’s strategic direction, strengthening cross-sector collaboration, and supporting the development of the exchange and Thailand’s capital market.
Benjarong brings more than 17 years of experience in finance and banking, spanning corporate strategy, credit business strategy, finance, business development, sustainability and digital banking. His career includes senior roles at TMBThanachart Bank PLC and the Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM BANK), as well as service as Thailand’s Vice Minister for Finance. Most recently, prior to joining SET, he served as a board member of the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) and as an Advisor of the Deputy Prime Minister. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from the University of San Francisco, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University in the United States.
