Anutin Claps Back at Trump, Rejects Blast Accident Claim Near Thai Border

Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, caretaker Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, posted a message on his personal Facebook, “Anutin Charnvirakul”. The message was seen as a direct response to the U.S. President Donald Trump’s earlier post, claiming that the explosion leading to several deaths in Thailand near the border area was an accident.

The message from the Thai leader reaffirmed that the incident was definitely not a roadside bomb accident and that Thailand would continue its military operations until it is assured that there is no danger or threat to Thailand’s territory and its people.

Mr. Anutin also mentioned that he wanted this matter to be clarified, emphasizing that Thailand’s actions this morning have already demonstrated its position.

This description from Trump contrasts with Premier Anutin’s previous explanation to the U.S. President during the phone call late Friday, where Anutin asserted that Thailand was forced to retaliate when Cambodian violations of the Joint Declaration, emphasizing that Thailand was defending its sovereignty and not initiating aggression. Anutin had previously insisted that Cambodia, as the violating party, must demonstrate concrete steps such as stopping firing, withdrawing forces, and clearing mines before Thailand would comply with a ceasefire request.
