Trump Leaks Macron’s Private Messages, Suggesting Paris G7 Gathering with Possible Russian Participation

Messages posted by President Donald Trump on his Truth Social account displayed a private message from French President Emmanuel Macron, in which Macron proposed France host a G7 meeting in Paris and a dinner afterward.

In the proposal, Macron suggested inviting delegates from Russia, Ukraine and Syria to participate alongside G7 leaders at Thursday’s meeting. He also invited delegates from Denmark to a possible discussion over Greenland-related issues.

According to a source familiar with Macron’s position, the correspondence published by Trump was genuine. The screenshot did not reveal any responses from Trump to Macron, if such replies existed.

The publication of this exchange came after President Trump declared plans for a 200% tariff on French wines and champagnes. Trump argued this measure would encourage Macron to become involved in the Board of Peace initiative, which aims to address international disputes.

French officials noted that Macron would attend the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday and return to Paris that evening, with no expectation of extending his visit to meet Trump, whose arrival is scheduled for Wednesday.
