FWD Insurance Marks 10th Anniversary with 10 Scholarships for Thai Youth through the Pimali Foundation

FWD Life Insurance Plc. (FWD Insurance) is pleased to provide 10 scholarships to young individuals at the Pimali Hospitality Training Center, as part of FWD Group’s 10th anniversary community care initiatives. These initiatives are aimed at fostering a learning-focused society, enhancing financial literacy for underprivileged individuals, addressing social disparities, and nurturing knowledge for sustainable future careers.

Mr. David Korunić, Chief Executive Officer of FWD Insurance, stated, FWD Insurance places significant importance on elevating the quality of life for the people of Thailand and is steadfast in our commitment to reducing societal inequalities. In line with this, we are delighted to continue our partnership with the ‘Pimali Foundation’ for the fourth consecutive year. As a special gesture for our 10th anniversary, we are proud to offer scholarships to 10 students at the Pimali Hospitality Training Center. This initiative aims to equip these young individuals with a solid educational foundation, facilitating the creation of secure career paths.

Ms. Stéphanie Des Arts-Loup, founder of the Pimali Foundation and Pimali Hospitality Training Center in Nong Khai Province, expressed, We are appreciative of FWD Insurance’s recognition of the importance of educational equity and comprehensive vocational training. This endeavor plays a pivotal role in addressing social disparities. Education and vocational skills serve as fundamental and powerful tools for disadvantaged youth to chart their course towards a self-sustained future.

Founded in 2015 in Nong Khai Province, the Pimali Hospitality Training Center has a clear mission: supporting underprivileged and orphaned children in Thailand. With funding from entities connected to the Pimali Foundation, the center targets disadvantaged youth from the northeastern region and those within the foundation’s care. These young individuals often lack family support, especially orphans without guardians. The center provides them with education and training in the hospitality sector after their basic schooling. The curriculum is a blend of theoretical and practical components spanned over an 11-month period, where the students will earn a professional certificate on hospitality to enhance future employability.

On 14 August 2023, FWD Group marked its 10th anniversary with the announcement of 10 grants in each of the 10 markets where FWD operates to support charitable programmes with a focus on financial inclusion.

The FWD Group Community Care programme forms part of its Environmental, Social & Governance strategy. Earlier this year, the company also announced the expansion of its financial literacy programme, JA SparktheDream, to span seven markets in Asia.
