Country Group Development PCL and SPGS International Announce Partnership to Bring Renowned St Paul’s Education to Bangkok

Leading Thai real estate developer Country Group Development PCL (SET: CGD) and SPGS International today announced a landmark partnership to bring world-class education to Bangkok and shape the future of learning in Thailand. Together, they will establish SPGS International School Bangkok, slated to open in August 2026.

The new school will bring the creativity, innovation, and ambition that defines St Paul’s Girls’ School in London to Thailand. This educational vision will be brought to life by leadership with strong St Paul’s Girls’ School connections and Country Group Development PCL, whose distinguished portfolio and world-class standards establish the developer as the perfect partner.

The School will offer an extended curriculum that goes well beyond traditional learning to boys and girls aged from 3-18. For the 2026/2027 academic year, the school will accept students from Nursery to Year 6, with admissions for Secondary School (Year 7 onwards) opening from the 2027/2028 academic year.

Ms. Sara Brazendale, Managing Director of SPGS International, said, “St Paul’s Girls’ School is delighted to formalise our partnership with Country Group Development PCL to establish SPGS International School Bangkok. “We are excited to extend our educational philosophy, which combines academic excellence with a deep commitment to pastoral care, creative exploration, and a rich co-curricular life, to a new generation of students in Thailand.” We are confident that SPGS International School Bangkok will become a beacon of educational innovation and a vibrant hub for learning.”

Mr. Ben Taechaubol, Chief Executive Officer of CGD, said, “We are thrilled to partner with SPGS International to bring their unparalleled educational expertise to Bangkok. This collaboration reflects CGD’s commitment to creating exceptional developments that enrich lives and contribute to the future of Thailand. We believe that SPGS International School Bangkok will be a transformative addition to the educational landscape, empowering students to become global leaders.”

An authentically St Paul’s Girls’ School education will be at the heart of the school in Bangkok. Built on a 120-year legacy of inspiring joy in scholarship, curiosity, and originality, the award-winning London school’s model balances a traditional academic approach with a forward-thinking mindset in the use of creative technology, developing its own courses which are recognised by top universities, and building an innovation centre.

A key feature of this holistic model is the extensive co-curricular programme, with over 200 weekly activities across academics, sports, and the arts which provides students with numerous opportunities for leadership and autonomy. Equally important is the school’s pastoral system, which cultivates a warm and caring community through small tutor groups, peer mentoring, and dedicated wellbeing centres, all designed to support students’ social-emotional growth alongside academic success.

This educational philosophy will be housed within a world-class campus, designed with direct input from London. The campus will feature purpose-built buildings for the Early Years, Junior, and Senior Schools, creating age-appropriate learning spaces for its 1,800 students. State-of-the-art amenities will include a 600-seat auditorium, amphitheatre, black box theatre, professional-grade recording studio, two swimming pools, as well as excellent sports and fitness facilities including rooftop tennis courts and football pitch.

This environment provides a space where learning occurs everywhere, not just in the classroom, enabling students to take the lead and cultivate a love for developing their skills and knowledge. The impact of this special education equips students with the intellectual confidence to be creative, take risks, and make a lasting impact on the world, both during their school years and throughout their lives.

Exceptional academic outcomes are not the point but a natural result of this environment, with a majority of St Paul’s Girls’ School alumnae consistently securing placements at prestigious universities like Oxford, Cambridge, and Stanford.

This standard of excellence is guaranteed by an active partnership with the SPGS International team in London, who provide advisors, oversight and collaboration to ensure that standards are rigorously maintained in and out of the classroom as part of an authentic St Paul’s experience. The connection is further reinforced by the appointment of a founding Head of School who was a senior leader at St Paul’s Girls’ School in London for 11 years.

SPGS International School Bangkok will be strategically located in central Bangkok’s prestigious Rama 3 district, a prime residential and business area. The school will be at the heart of a landmark THB 14,400,000,000 (USD 445,000,000) mixed-use development by CGD.

This project will seamlessly integrate the world-class campus with luxury residences, creating a vibrant and thriving community while offering unparalleled convenience for families and cultivating a diverse, forward-looking community centred around education, wellbeing, and urban excellence.

Beyond its campus, SPGS International School Bangkok is poised to become a catalyst for educational innovation across Thailand and Southeast Asia. This significant investment by CGD and SPGS International is expected to attract top-tier talent and a diverse student body, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community.

The school’s graduates will be uniquely prepared to succeed in a rapidly changing world, equipped to drive the economic and social development of Thailand and the wider region.
