KH Academy, continuing the core mission of ‘Kaohoon Turakij’, has rolled out the KH Legal Aid initiative, offering free legal education seminars aimed at empowering the Thai public. The project seeks to elevate legal literacy, highlight individual rights and responsibilities, and help prevent unintentional breaches of the law, all at no cost to participants.
KH Legal Aid hosted a seminar titled ‘Decoding Mule Accounts: The Grey Money Trail You Need to Know’ at its Ratchathewi Campus on October 18, 2025. The event featured expert lecturer Ms. Benjaporn Watcharavutthichai, Provincial Public Prosecutor attached to the Office of the Attorney General, who covered a wide range of topics. These included relevant laws on mule accounts, associated legal risks, common online scams, public rights protections, financial risk mitigation, and access to victim remedies.
The seminar attracted significant interest from students and the wider community, many of whom attended to enhance their understanding and better protect themselves from becoming targets or victims of online financial crime.
During her presentation, Ms. Benjaporn emphasized the growing sophistication of criminals, who increasingly leverage technology to deceive victims. She urged the public to continually educate themselves about new scam tactics and technological vulnerabilities, drawing from both news sources and guidance from authorities. Building awareness and personal resilience, she noted, is the most effective way to avoid falling prey to scams.
Ms. Benjaporn acknowledged that while state measures such as compensation and online crime reporting exist, the best defense is for individuals to proactively understand and protect themselves—minimizing losses even if fraud does occur.
The event is held regularly once a month, free of charge. Updates and further details can be followed on Facebook, Instagram, and the KH Academy application, available for download on both Android and iOS.
