MAGURO Partners with Swedish Fine-Dining Water Solution ‘NORDAQ’

  • Transforming the Japanese Restaurant Industry with a Sustainable Growth Strategy toward Net Zero
  • Reinforcing the “Give More” philosophy — delivering better experiences to customers through quality, service, and sustainable environmental responsibility
  • NORDAQ water filtration system, the taste of pure water.

MAGURO Group Public Company Limited (mai: MAGURO), one of Thailand’s leading restaurant operators, has partnered with NORDAQ, a Swedish company that manufactures and develops premium water filtration systems (Fine-Dining Water Solution), to provide high-quality and environmentally friendly drinking water.

NORDAQ’s refill system helps reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles and is trusted by Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels worldwide. The service will begin across 16 restaurants under MAGURO Group, reinforcing the “Give More” philosophy — offering better experiences to customers in every dimension with sustainability in mind.

Mr. Jakkrit Saisomboon, Chief Executive Officer of MAGURO, stated that MAGURO Group is committed to delivering the best dining experiences comprehensively, with consideration for all stakeholders and the environment.

“In 2025, we continue to emphasize sustainable growth following the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) framework. We have partnered with NORDAQ, a premium Swedish company known for its innovation in water filtration systems trusted by Michelin-starred restaurants and world-class hotels.

“Their high-quality filtration system provides clear, chemical-free water while preserving essential minerals that are beneficial to health, enhancing the natural taste and enjoyment of meals. It also represents an environmentally friendly choice that reduces the carbon footprint from production and transportation, and minimizes plastic bottle use. NORDAQ water is served in specially designed glass bottles, which are precisely washed using high-standard cleaning machines and reused to minimize waste.”

The premium NORDAQ water service will initially be available in 16 branches under MAGURO Group, including:

  • MAGURO – Premium sushi and Japanese cuisine made with the finest ingredients, at The Flavorhood (Praditmanutham), CentralWorld, Mega Bangna, Chic Republic Ratchaphruek, Chic Republic Bangna, and MAGURO Kappou at Central Park.
  • BINCHO – Authentic Japanese charcoal grill at Mega Bangna.
  • KIWAMIYA – Original wagyu hamburger steak from Japan at Central Park.
  • Tonkatsu AOKI – Popular Japanese tonkatsu specialist at Mega Bangna and ICONSIAM.

NORDAQ’s water filtration system delivers the taste of pure water and offers an environmentally sustainable solution. It is present globally in over 140 Michelin-starred restaurants. In 2024 alone, NORDAQ’s customers eliminated 139 million single-use plastic bottles, equivalent to 104 million liters of water. In total, about 5.8 billion plastic bottles have been eliminated since NORDAQ began its calculations in 2010.

It is expected that this initiative will help reduce single-use plastic bottle consumption by more than 80% per branch, equivalent to as many as 400,000 bottles within the first year of the project alone. MAGURO also plans to expand the installation of NORDAQ’s premium fine-dining water solution to additional branches within the group by 2026, ensuring that customers across all restaurants and brands enjoy the same premium-quality mineral water experience.

Johanna Mattsson, Group CEO of NORDAQ, added:
“NORDAQ provides, in my opinion, the world’s most innovative and effective water solution for superior taste and less waste. Our water is the cleanest in the world and enhances the flavor of food and wine. We offer pure, filtered water without any taste-altering minerals.”

“Sustainability, to us, isn’t just a word — it’s about taking meaningful action in small ways that create real impact. Choosing NORDAQ is another step in our journey to ‘Give More,’ offering better quality that customers can feel and results that are truly better for the planet,” Mr. Jakkrit concluded.
