BANPU Invests THB880 Million in 2 Vietnamese Solar Farms with a Total Capacity of 50MW

Banpu Public Company Limited (SET: BANPU) announced on Tuesday that BRE Singapore Pte., Ltd. (BRES), a subsidiary company of Banpu NEXT Co., Ltd, (BANPU and Banpu Power Public Company Limited (SET: BPP) equally held 50% shareholding) entered into a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for the acquisition of 100% stakes in Licogi 16 Gia Lai Investment Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company (LCE Gia Lai) that owned 15 MW Chu Ngoc solar power plants and Licogi 16 Ninh Thuan Investment Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company (LCE Ninh Thuan) that owned 35 MW Nhon Hai solar power plant. 

The purchase consideration is approximately USD26.69 million or approximately THB883  million. The transaction remains subject to certain adjustments, conditions precedents outlined in the SPA and customary approvals with completion expected to take place in 2Q of 2022.

 

Inclusive of this project, BANPU has an energy generation portfolio located in many countries across Asia Pacific Region. The total generation capacity has reached 4,435 MW on Equity-base capacity, under which had been COD for a total of 4,253 MW. BANPU will continue pursuing its Greener & Smarter portfolio transformation by seeking investment opportunities in attractive growth markets and supportive government policy to achieve a total generation capacity of 6,100 MW by 2025.
