Elon Musk Plans to Hike Prices of “Blue Check” on Apple’s Devices

The information from sources close to the matter indicated that Twitter Inc plans to change the pricing of Twitter blue subscription product from $7.99 to $11 for iPhone app, and $7 paid on the website, which is a pushback against Apple Inc’s 30% cut on any payment charged from software developers for in-app purchases.

Elon Musk took ownership of Twitter in October, planning to launch the micro blogging site’s verified service with different colored checks for companies, government, and individuals, which the initial launch failed to prevent rising of users impersonating celebrities and brands.

Musk posted in his tweets last week to express his disapproval of Apple’s policies, including the 30% fee.

Later, Musk met Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple and he tweeted that the misunderstanding about Apple’s store removed Twitter on the store that was resolved.
