Mr. Yew Hock Koh, Chief Executive Officer of SISB Public Company Limited (SET: SISB), stated that this year, the company still maintains its goal of expanding its revenue from last year of THB 2.39 billion by 10% due to the increase of its tuition fees by 3.3%. However, the company also cut its student headcount target from 5,000 to 4,700 students.
Currently, SISB’s international school business is facing several challenges, such as economic slowdown and high household debt that restrict parents’ spending. Although the company accepted 800 new students, more than 700 students have left the system as they either graduated, returned to China, or entered Thailand less. There is also a price competition as the company’s new international school reduced its tuition fee by 30 – 40%.
The CEO stated that SISB is trying to maintain its Chinese student base. Currently, there are about 950 Chinese students in the system, and that volume has been stable for some time. As for Thai students, there is an adjustment in their study course to align with the current economic situation. This will reduce parent’s spending and student’s transfer rate to other schools as well.
As for the expansion of Pracha Uthit Campus phase 3 to address 600 more students, using CAPEX of THB 265 million, the construction is progressing significantly and will open in the first quarter next year. This venture will be used for educational development, especially for the high school student.
Regarding the construction of SISB’s seventh international school at Pathum Thani province (Rangsit Campus), using CAPEX of THB 300 million on 20 rai of land, to address 700 students, the land leveling process has been completed. The company estimated that the pile driving would begin this year, followed by the construction process in 2026. If everything goes according to the schedule, the first semester of AY2027/2028 will mark the launch of this Rangsit Campus.
SISB’s seventh international school is operated under the vision of “Bringing Education to You.” Its tuition fee has been reduced by 50% from about THB 600,000 to THB 300,000 – 400,000. The company estimated that this rate is suitable for the Rangsit market and will receive a good response. The max capacity of the Rangsit Campus is expected to be around 1,000-2,000 students.
The CEO added that if the new model at Rangsit Campus becomes successful, the company will use its potential lands in Thailand to construct a new school in the future.
