Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (SET: AOT) has entered into a Sister Airport Agreement (SAA) with Central Japan International Airport Co., Ltd. (CJIAC), operator of Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO Airport). The agreement reinforces both organizations’ commitment to advancing airport management, innovation, and sustainability while deepening aviation cooperation between Thailand and Japan.
The signing ceremony was held at the Rosewood Bangkok Hotel and was presided over by Ms. Paweena Jariyathitipong, Acting President of AOT, and Mr. Hironori Kagohashi, President & CEO of CJIAC. Also in attendance were Mr. Sirote Duangratana, Senior Executive Vice President (Business Development and Marketing) of AOT, and Mr. Hidehisa Nagae, Managing Executive Officer & CMO of CJIAC, together with executive officers and staff from both organizations.
Under this agreement, AOT and CJIAC will strengthen cooperation through the exchange of information, regular meetings, joint marketing and promotional activities, and collaborative projects. The partnership aims to enhance operational efficiency, elevate passenger services, and promote sustainability in line with global aviation standards.
Excellence and Sustainability at CJIAC
CJIAC is internationally recognized for its management of Chubu Centrair International Airport, which has been named the World’s Best Regional Airport by Skytrax for 11 consecutive years, as well as World’s Best Regional Airport in Asia for 15 consecutive years. The airport is also a pioneer in environmental sustainability, achieving Level 4 (Transformation) certification under the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Carbon Accreditation program for its proactive measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, NGO Airport’s terminal is renowned for its inclusive, passenger-friendly design that applies Universal Design principles, ensuring simplicity, accessibility, and comfort for all travelers.
