KH Legal Aid Spotlights Public Limited Companies Act, Equips Participants with Legal Insights for Thai Capital Market

KH Academy continues the core mission of ‘Kaohoon Turakij’ in contributing to and enhancing the quality of Thai society, launching the ‘KH Legal Aid’ project, a free legal knowledge training and seminar initiative for the public. This project aims to build an understanding of legal rights and duties among citizens, helping to reduce the risk of legal violations.

On February 21, 2026, the KH Legal Aid event was held at KH Academy Ratchathewi Campus, centering discussions on the topic ‘Public Limited Companies Act: The Law that Sets the Rules in the Capital Market’. The seminar featured Mr. Prakong Dulkanij, Provincial Public Prosecutor attached to the Office of the Attorney General, as the guest lecturer. He addressed key aspects of company formation, registration procedures, and the legal responsibilities associated with public limited companies.

Participants examined the Act from the perspectives of both founding directors and shareholders, emphasizing the value of legal awareness in evaluating investment opportunities.

According to Mr. Prakong, public limited companies have broad fundraising capabilities, making it essential to carefully review corporate structures, management backgrounds, and financial reports. Such vigilance, he said, helps investors detect inaccurate or misleading disclosures, reducing exposure to potential fraud or financial misstatements. Understanding shareholder rights and directors’ duties was underscored as a critical foundation for investor protection.

Feedback from over 70 students in attendance indicated that the session made complex legal topics accessible and practical, particularly in recognizing warning signs of improper fundraising activities. Miss Patitta Pattanapong, a student from the Faculty of Business Administration, Kasetsart University, noted that the training provided actionable insights into public company law, bolstering her confidence in applying these principles to both personal and professional finance decisions.

KH Legal Aid is scheduled to continue as a free monthly event. Those interested can find updates and registration information on KH Academy’s social media, including its Facebook page or Instagram, or via the mobile app, which is offered for both Android and iOS platforms.

KH Academy was established through a collaboration with private sector partners, including B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (BGRIM), PrimeStreet Advisory (Thailand) Company Limited, BCPG Public Company Limited (BCPG), Charoen Pokphand Group Company Limited, BTS Group Holdings Public Company Limited (BTS), Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited (KTB), and more.
