U.S. President Donald Trump threatened on Monday that the U.S. will completely wipe out Iran’s electric generating plants, oil wells and Kharg Island if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately ‘Open for Business’.
“The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
The statement came after the report that Iran has downplayed Trump’s 15-point plan on Monday.
Iran formally rejected recent proposals from the United States intended to resolve the ongoing conflict, describing the offers as excessive and unrealistic. Tehran clarified that its communications with Washington have been conducted exclusively through intermediaries, with no direct negotiations taking place.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Iran considers the U.S. suggestions unreasonable and lacking in plausibility, according to Iranian news outlet Tasnim.
Earlier, Pakistan has announced its willingness to facilitate substantive discussions to help end what it described as the “United States-Israeli war on Iran.” However, Iranian news outlet Tasnim reported that Tehran did not take part in these meetings hosted by Pakistan.
Iran’s response follows President Donald Trump’s assertion that Tehran has agreed to the majority of a 15-point plan set forth by the United States. While details of the plan have not been officially disclosed, various reports indicate that its chief demand centers on the full dismantling of Iran’s nuclear activities.
Iran is also reported to have countered with its own proposal to the Trump administration, but specific terms of this offer remain unpublished.
