Siam Wellness Group Public Company Limited (SET: SPA) decreased by 2.53% or THB 0.08 to THB 3.08, with a trading value of THB 367,130.

Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited (SET: STGT) slumped by 4.76% or THB 0.50 to THB 10.00, with a trading value of THB 6.76 million.

The share prices of the mentioned companies declined as they entered the first day of the ex-dividend (XD) date, with the following details:

  • KBANK is set to pay a cash dividend of THB 12 per share on May 8, 2026.
  • CRC will pay a cash dividend of THB 1.11 per share on May 8, 2026.
  • BLA plans a cash dividend of THB 0.48 per share on May 7, 2026.
  • SPA will pay a cash dividend of THB 0.10 per share on May 7, 2026.
  • STA intends to pay a cash dividend of THB 0.50 per share on May 8, 2026.
  • STGT will distribute a cash dividend of THB 0.50 per share on May 8, 2026.

The phenomenon is a standard mechanism in capital markets. The XD sign indicates that investors purchasing shares from that day onwards will not be entitled to the upcoming dividend payout.

As a result, share prices typically fall by an amount proportionate to the cash dividend per share announced by the company, reflecting the cash outflow from the company’s equity or retained earnings that is set to take place.

Therefore, the decrease is simply a readjustment to reflect the loss of dividend eligibility for new shareholders. It does not indicate any deterioration in the company’s underlying business fundamentals or profit-generating capability.
