US Futures Edge Up as Market Digests Nvidia Earnings and SpaceX IPO Filing

U.S. equity futures edged slightly higher Thursday, as investors weighed Nvidia’s after-hours report and SpaceX’s progress toward an initial public offering. The market’s muted response followed a session in which stocks rallied, ending the S&P 500’s three-day decline.

At 4:17 p.m. (Bangkok Time), Dow Jones Industrial Average futures surged 0.12%. Meanwhile, contracts tied to the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 traded near flat levels at 0.08% and 0.02% respectively.

Nvidia released financial results after the trading session closed. The company surpassed analysts’ estimates on both revenue and profit and raised its chip sales outlook. Despite these positive headline numbers, Nvidia shares dropped approximately 1% post-market as many investors were anticipating an even stronger signal of future demand.

In late trading, SpaceX filed its S-1 registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, revealing previously undisclosed financial details before its anticipated investor roadshow in June.

On Wednesday, equities advanced after several losing sessions. Gains came as oil prices and government bond yields retreated. Investor confidence was further supported after President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. administration was nearing completion of negotiations with Iran, as cited in a pool report.

Looking ahead, market participants await earnings from Walmart prior to the opening bell. Results from Workday are due after market close. In addition, key U.S. economic indicators on jobless claims, housing, and manufacturing are expected in the morning.
