US Futures Mixed as Dow Climbs to Record Close

U.S. equity futures displayed a mixed pattern after the Dow Jones Industrial Average reached a new record high, closing above 53,000 for the first time.

At 4:21 p.m. (Bangkok Time), Dow futures edged up 0.7%, while S&P 500 futures declined 0.14% and Nasdaq 100 contracts slid 0.86%.

Monday’s regular session saw the Dow hitting an unprecedented level as technology stocks rallied. The Nasdaq Composite benefited from a rebound in chip manufacturers, rising 1.12%, supported by notable gains from Western Digital and Advanced Micro Devices, which climbed 7% and 6.6%, respectively. The S&P 500 advanced by 0.72%, benefiting from the tech-driven momentum.

SpaceX shares fell nearly 1% prior to its upcoming inclusion in the Nasdaq-100 index scheduled for Tuesday. Dell surged over 4% after President Donald Trump advocated for the company’s computers during a White House event. Conversely, Microsoft’s stock came under pressure as the firm announced plans to reduce its workforce by 4,800 positions.

Looking ahead, traders will monitor forthcoming U.S. trade deficit figures for further insight into the country’s economic health.
