True Corp Steps Up to Unite Quantum Expertises and Drive Thailand’s Tech Future

At the official launch of Quantum Club Thailand on 3 August 2026, Mr. Ekaraj Panjavinin, Head of Research and Innovation at True Corporation Public Company Limited (SET: TRUE), delivered a compelling vision for transitioning Thailand from traditional computing to the quantum era. Defining quantum as a truly disruptive technology, Ekaraj emphasized that “it is time” for Thailand to integrate this power into its national infrastructure.

Ekaraj identified the primary challenge facing Thailand’s quantum development: a scattered ecosystem. Currently, research and expertise are fragmented across academia, government, and the private sector, leaving many stakeholders unsure of how or where to begin. To solve this, he positioned Quantum Club Thailand as a central stage designed to “connect the dots”

Ekaraj explained that the world is moving beyond the eras of the CPU and GPU toward the QPU (Quantum Processing Unit). Rather than replacing existing technology, the future lies in the combination of these processing powers to solve complex problems that current systems cannot handle within a reasonable timeframe or cost.

He outlined four major technological pillars that the Club will focus on:

  1. Optimization: Solving massive-scale problems such as national energy grids and city-wide traffic management.
  2. Simulation: Accelerating breakthroughs in healthcare, such as developing vaccines for all types of cancer through molecular simulation.
  3. Quantum AI: Enhancing AI intelligence beyond current limits by using QPUs to process data at unprecedented levels.
  4. Quantum Security: to secure national and corporate data.

To translate this vision into action, Ekaraj introduced a concrete execution strategy divided into three core programs:

  • Quantum Academy (QA): A focus on human capital through boot camps, training, and certifications. This program aims to upskill researchers and the “new generation” of students to ensure Thailand has the talent to sustain the technology.
  • Quantum Industry (QI): Driving industrial adoption by identifying real-world use cases. Ekaraj noted that through the qBraid platform, Thai organizations can now access world-class quantum hardware via the cloud, significantly lowering the investment costs that previously acted as a barrier to entry.
  • Quantum Lab (QL): Utilizing True Digital Park as a central hub for incubation, research, and experimentation. The lab will allow researchers and startups to move “research off the shelf” and into practical, impactful applications.

Ekaraj provided practical examples of how quantum is already being applied, noting that global operators like NTT DOCOMO use it commercially for network management. For True Corporation, quantum could fine-tune mobile networks in real-time by predicting population shifts and offloading signals to optimize performance. He also pointed to its potential in predicting natural disasters, like earthquakes, which current computing power fails to do accurately.

While neighboring countries like Singapore and Indonesia are also moving quickly, Ekaraj believes Thailand has a distinct advantage due to its talented researchers, strong universities, and ready international partners. He concluded by expressing his excitement after discovering a growing community of Thai quantum startups, asserting that with a unified platform, Thai innovation is ready to reach the global stage.
