ASL Hints at Picking Up Tourism Stocks as Thailand Enters Peak Season

Mr. Suchet Suktae, Deputy Managing Director, Media Marketing Department of ASL Securities, stated during the “Kaohoon” program on September 8, 2026, that the overall Thai stock market outlook remains positive.

He assessed the support levels for the SET Index at 1,610 and 1,600 points, while also recommended a hold or trading strategy, as long as the index does not fall below the 1,600-point level. If the index drops below that level, it would be considered a deviation from the previous trend, and investors should increase caution.

In addition, over the next month, investors still need to monitor domestic factors, particularly political movements, budget deliberations, and government policies, which could affect confidence and market direction in the short term.

Regarding interesting investment themes, Mr. Suchet stated that data centers remain a key megatrend as such investments connect with multiple industries, including banking, energy, electricity, water, technology, and ICT. This also includes project areas, particularly industrial estates, which have the opportunity to benefit from the expansion of data centers in the vicinity of Bangkok, the Eastern region, Ayutthaya, and Pathum Thani.

Industrial estate stocks worth monitoring include ROJNA, NNCL, AMATA, and WHA. Meanwhile, WHAUP has utility and power businesses that provide additional support, making it another group likely to benefit from long-term data center investments.

For today’s individual picks, Mr. Suchet highlighted CPN, which is considered an outstanding stock within the Central Group due to its continuous growth outlook. If investors already hold the stock, the analyst recommends either maintaining or expanding the position, with a resistance level at around THB 67.25 – 69 and a target price for this round at THB 70. For those who do not yet own the stock, the strategy is buy on dip, the support level was given at THB 62.

Meanwhile, the analyst gave a key support for BH at around THB 189 – 190, with a resistance at THB 200 – 210. The stock is currently trading in a sideways-up pattern, he noted.

For GUNKUL, the outlook remains positive, but further upward movement will depend on new government measures related to the power business. Mr. Suchet set the next target prices at THB 5.35, 5.50, and 6. In addition, the broker set a support for TOA at THB 15, and a resistance at THB 16.

The analyst also advised trading strategy for BTG, the support level was set at THB 20.50, and the resistance level at THB 22. The outlook for the food and livestock sector is expected to improve in the second half of the year, with stocks in this sector having the potential to rise in line with their earnings performance.

Additionally, large banking stocks have the potential to help support the market during the dividend payout announcement periods. Energy and petrochemical stocks are expected to remain stable in line with global oil prices, while the ICT sector is starting to gain better momentum, especially TRUE, whose current price is seen as having established a support base, with a target price remaining around THB 14.

For the September – October period, Mr. Suchet believes that investors should start gradually accumulating tourism-related stocks to prepare for the government’s economic and tourism stimulus measures late in the year. Stocks worth tracking include AOT, BA, CENTEL, MINT, and ERW, while the industrial sector will remain a key fundamental factor supporting the market’s direction.

Regarding the drop in daily trading value to around THB 50,000 – 60,000 million, Mr. Suchet views domestic uncertainty as the primary cause, which has weighed on investor confidence. Meanwhile, external factors have begun to ease. Therefore, if there are no government measures or new factors to revive confidence, the trading volume may remain at this level.

However, if clear government measures are implemented and help restore confidence, capital from both domestic and foreign institutional investors is expected to gradually flow back into the market. This would boost liquidity and pave the way for the SET Index to rise further, as it would be difficult to climb to the 1,650 – 1,700 level if trading volume remains low.

ASL maintains a positive outlook on the Thai stock market, assessing that over the next three months until the end of the year, the SET Index has the opportunity to test and break above the 1,650-point level if domestic factors clear up and investor confidence recovers.
