The procession will form part of Their Majesties the King and Queen’s royal journey to present Kathin robes to Buddhist monks at Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan on Friday, November 6, 2026, as part of the celebrations on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s Fourth Cycle Birthday Anniversary.
True Corporation’s mobile network engineering teams have conducted on-site inspections and signal quality assessments along the route, with particular attention to public viewing areas and key transit points, including piers, temples, public parks, activity areas, transport connections and other important riverside locations. Building on the company’s experience in managing the network for the 2024 Royal Barge Procession, the teams are combining local network usage data, mobile usage patterns and data gathered from each rehearsal to identify where additional capacity is required and optimize the network for high levels of simultaneous usage on the day of the Royal Kathin Ceremony, particularly for sharing photos and videos, livestreaming on social media and communicating through mobile applications.

Strengthening 5G with Network Solutions for High-Density Areas
True Corporation is strengthening its network with a focus on 5G, complemented by 4G and WiFi, to support increased data traffic and large numbers of simultaneous users. Key network measures being prepared for the event include:
- Increasing 5G and 4G network capacity at key locations along the route, based on an analysis of individual base station capacity, projected user numbers and expected data traffic.
- Preparing mobile Cell-on-Wheel (COW) units to provide additional network capacity in areas expected to experience high usage.
- Installing temporary sites to increase network capacity at key locations and in areas where permanent equipment installation is constrained.
- Enhancing WiFi at key locations to provide additional connectivity options and accommodate increased data traffic.
- Optimizing network parameters based on actual usage data to manage signal quality and support large numbers of simultaneous connections.
- Using AI for network analysis and management to monitor usage patterns, assess network density and optimize performance according to real-time conditions.
- Providing 24/7 network monitoring and management through the Business and Network Intelligence Center (BNIC), in coordination with field engineering teams, to respond to changing usage levels throughout the day.
Network preparations also take into account the distinctive characteristics of the Chao Phraya riverside environment, which differ from those of conventional event locations. These include limitations on equipment installation, signal propagation characteristics, crowd movement and the potential for rapid increases in simultaneous usage. Engineering teams have conducted on-site signal measurements and continue to analyze data from each rehearsal to refine the network plan.
AI and Real-World Usage Data Support Continuous Network Readiness Through the Royal Kathin Ceremony
In addition to increasing base-station capacity, True Corporation is using AI and automation for network management, data analysis, network condition monitoring and load management in high-density areas. These capabilities work in conjunction with BNIC and network engineering teams that monitor network conditions around the clock.
This approach makes network preparation for the 2026 Royal Barge Procession a continuous process throughout the rehearsal period. Actual usage data from each rehearsal is analyzed to further refine the network plan and optimize performance for the full-dress rehearsals before final preparations for the Royal Kathin Ceremony.
The 2026 Royal Barge Procession will take place on Friday, November 6, 2026, as part of Their Majesties the King and Queen’s royal journey to present Kathin robes to Buddhist monks at Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, as part of the celebrations on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s Fourth Cycle Birthday Anniversary on June 3, 2026. A total of 10 minor rehearsals and two full-dress rehearsals are being held, with the full-dress rehearsals scheduled for October 21 and 28, 2026.
