Analysts See Tourism Stimulus Boosting Thai Hospitality and Retail Stocks

After the Thai government launched three domestic tourism stimulus schemes spanning late 2026 into early 2027, securities analysts assess that these measures are likely to generate positive momentum for tourism, hotel, and retail stocks due to increased domestic travel activity and spending. Meanwhile, airport operators stand to benefit from potential gains in passenger volume, although the impact of elevated fuel costs on airline performance remains a key factor to monitor.

Thakrit Chatcherdsak, Assistant Director of Krungsri Capital Securities’ Research Department, told “Kaohoon” that the government’s tourism stimulus measures are expected to support domestic commerce and hospitality equities by driving higher traffic and economic activity during the project period.

Direct corporate beneficiaries include airport operations, domestic hotel chains, and airlines servicing domestic routes, such as AAV and BA. Within the hotel sector, the measures are viewed as a sentiment boost for AWC, given its substantial asset concentration in Bangkok, as well as ERW and CENTEL.

Furthermore, the rebound in tourism activity is anticipated to underpin domestic consumption, particularly for CPALL, whose extensive nationwide branch network positions it to capture upside from increased foot traffic and consumer spending.

Meanwhile, Kasikorn Securities (KS) stated to “Kaohoon” that the three domestic tourism initiatives—alongside the upcoming “100 Baht Travel Across Thailand” scheme to be introduced by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)—are set to stimulate travel demand and domestic spending during the high season.

Hotel operators are positioned to gain from increased group travel and tour activities, while organized events serve as another vital catalyst for the industry. AWC is expected to be a direct beneficiary owing to its portfolio of hotels fully located within Thailand.

AOT also stands to benefit from these initiatives, provided they successfully drive a meaningful uptick in air passenger traffic. However, the analyst maintains a cautious outlook on airline equities, as operators continue to face margin pressure from high fuel costs and must carefully manage ticket yields to cover operational overhead.

Although the 500-baht domestic flight discount per sector is expected to stimulate travel demand, clarity is still required regarding the funding mechanism for the subsidy, specifically whether the government will fully absorb the cost. If the government finances the subsidy directly, it would serve as a positive catalyst for the airline sector by boosting passenger volumes without saddling carriers with direct discount expenses.

Regarding the policy details, Ploytalay Laksameesangchan, Deputy Government Spokesperson, announced on October 31, 2026, that the TAT, under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, has partnered with industry players to roll out three domestic tourism initiatives.

The first scheme, “Fly Across Thailand, Heal Every Trip,” is a joint effort with seven airlines to offer a 500-baht fare discount per sector across all domestic routes via the promotional code “FLYTODOM,” aimed at boosting domestic air travel.

The second initiative, “Amazing Thailand Travel Across Thailand by Tour,” provides financial support for bus and van transportation under specified conditions to promote group travel across all five regions of the country.

The third initiative, “Single Journey 2026,” aims to promote travel through eight experiential activities alongside 10 curated travel routes across all five regions, expanding choices and encouraging travel among solo tourists. The government projects these three initiatives to generate no less than THB 629 million in circulating economic value.

Additionally, the TAT is preparing to launch the “100 Baht Travel Across Thailand” campaign to encourage weekday travel and distribute tourism income to secondary cities across the country through special privileges and discounts provided by tourism operators.
