Thai Exports Beat Forecast in March with Nearly 18% Growth

Thailand’s exports surged by 17.8% in March compared to the previous year, the commerce ministry reported on Thursday. This result exceeded the anticipated 13.5% year-on-year increase projected in a Reuters poll and followed a 14.0% rise in February.

In further developments, the commerce ministry anticipates continued growth in Thai exports in April and suggests that exports may surpass forecasts for the entire year.

Additionally, March saw customs-cleared imports increase by 10.2% year-on-year, outperforming the 6.1% growth expected in the Reuters poll.

Furthermore, the customs-cleared trade balance for March recorded a $0.97 billion surplus, slightly below the $1.1 billion expected according to the Reuters survey.
