The Ministry of Public Health has released updated figures on casualties stemming from the latest Thai-Cambodian border skirmishes, as announced by ministry spokesperson Dr. Varoth Chotpitayasunondh.
The updated casualty report reveals a total of 14 fatalities—13 civilians and 1 military personnel—alongside 46 individuals reported injured across various levels of severity. Specifically, among civilians, there are 7 seriously injured, 13 moderately injured, and 12 with minor injuries, bringing the number of civilians affected to 45. Military casualties include 6 seriously wounded, 5 with moderate injuries, and 3 sustaining minor injuries—totaling 15 military personnel impacted.
The overall count from the border unrest stands at 60 dead or wounded. In addition to these casualties, the ongoing conflict has led to the evacuation of approximately 112,643 civilians from the affected areas.
Dr. Varoth offered his deepest sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives, as well as support and well wishes to the injured. He also extended words of encouragement to all Thais affected by the violence, emphasizing the Ministry of Public Health’s dedication to safeguarding and providing comprehensive support to both civilian and military populations during this difficult time.
