According to a statement released Tuesday by the Ministry of Tourism, Thailand welcomed 26.25 million international tourists between January 1 and October 26, reflecting a 7.25% decline compared to the same period last year.
Malaysia remained Thailand’s main source of visitors, contributing 3.8 million arrivals, narrowly ahead of China with 3.72 million.
Earlier in October, the Bank of Thailand revised its full-year forecast for foreign tourist arrivals to 33 million, down from the previously projected 35 million. The new estimate remains well below the nation’s pre-pandemic record of nearly 40 million international visitors reached in 2019.
