Revenue generated from foreign tourists was THB 1.21 trillion, a decrease of 2.68%.
The top five origins for cumulative arrivals were China at 4.19 million, Malaysia at 3.16 million, India at 1.88 million, Russia at 1.36 million, and South Korea at 912,597. Meanwhile, domestic tourism accumulated 165.54 million person-trips, up 2.02% from the same period last year, generating THB 971,838 million in revenue, an increase of 2.60%.
Over the past week (October 18 – 24), a total of 501,965 foreign tourists entered Thailand, an increase of 14,555 visitors or 2.99% from the previous week, averaging 71,709 arrivals per day. Growth was primarily supported by the long-haul market, which recorded 199,954 tourists, up 12.03%, driven by short school breaks in Europe and the Americas alongside entry into the winter tourist season. Arrivals from Russia rose 25.45% and the United States increased 11.52%, supported by the short school break.
Meanwhile, the short-haul market recorded 302,011 tourists, down 2.24% from the preceding week. However, arrivals from India continued to expand well, rising 18.09% driven by travel trends and the Hindu religious holiday of Maha Navami during the Navaratri festival.
The top five foreign nationals visiting Thailand during the week were Malaysia at 62,724 (up 1.02% week-on-week), China at 49,494 (down 24.17%), India at 48,089 (up 18.09%), Russia at 34,986 (up 25.45%), and the United States at 20,167 (up 11.52%).
For the tourism situation this week (October 25 – 31), foreign tourist arrivals are expected to trend upward, supported by entry into the tourist season and an increase in flight frequencies from the Indian market, specifically on the Gaya–Don Mueang (DMK), Guwahati–Don Mueang (DMK), Kochi–Suvarnabhumi (BKK), and Visakhapatnam–Suvarnabhumi (BKK) routes.
