Thailand’s Nightlife to Return Officially from June 1, Says CCSA

Thailand is nearly returning to its normal life after the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Friday announced the official reopening of nightlife entertainment venues in both green and blue zones, starting June 1.

Following the most recent report, the number of yellow zone provinces subject to Covid-19’s maximum surveillance will be lowered from 65 to 46, while the number of surveillance green zones and pilot tourist destination blue zones will increase to 14 and 12, respectively.

Nightlife venues, including pubs, bars, nightclubs and karaokes, will be allowed to re-open in green and blue zones across the kingdom.

The CCSA has also extended the state of emergency for an additional two months, until July 31.

Kasikorn Securities (KS) views the return of nocturnal activities in Thailand as a positive sentiment for the country’s reopening plays, such as eateries (M, ZEN), retails (CPALL), transportations (BEM, BTS, DMT), hotels (AWC, DUSIT, MINT, CENTEL), shopping centers (CPN) and packaging (BGC).
