The Thai stock market plunged sharply on Monday right after the election day as the market monitored the next move from two big political parties that took the majority of seats on how to form a coalition government.
Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,541.38 points, decreased 19.97 points or 1.28% with a trading value of 68 billion baht.
Among those that fell the most were Maymart Group Holdings Public Company Limited (SET: JMART) (-10.34%), Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (SET: GULF) (-8.57%), Carabao Group Public Company Limited (SET: CBG) (-8.44%), True Corporation Public Company Limited (SET: TRUE) (-7.84%), B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (SET: BGRIM) (-6.33%), Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (SET: GPSC) (-5.98%) and JMT Network Services Public Company Limited (SET: JMT) (-5.85%).
However, the fall in blue-chip stocks opened up more room for investors to buy the dips as the Refinitiv Consensus showed that 46 stocks out of the top 50 in the Thai main bourse still have upside to its target price with JMART having the highest room for 222% gains.
