Kaohoon Morning Brief – 6 December 2023

Krungsri Securities (KSS) expected Thailand’s SET Index to move within the range of 1,370-1,390 points. Despite the market receiving a positive sentiment from a slow down in US PCE to 3.0% in October, adding the probability for the Fed to end its rate-hike cycle, still, the oil price that continued to decline could pressure Thai energy stocks. In addition, the analyst recommended investors to pick stocks that have unique catalysts.

 

Apple’s market capitalization closed above $3 trillion for the first time since August after its shares rose 2% at $193.42 per share on Tuesday. The price officially crossed over the $3 trillion mark in June this year. It briefly reached the mark during the intra trading day in December 2022.

 

Moody’s expects China’s GDP to grow 4.0% in 2024 and 2025, while giving a forecast for long-term growth with an average rate of 3.8% from 2026 to 2030.

The credit rating agency expects China’s real estate sector to remain mildly affected by the ongoing property crisis. In addition, Moody’s affirms China’s A1 rating but downgrades outlook to “negative” from “stable” on rising debt.

 

India’s stock market valuation reached more than $4 trillion Tuesday for the first time. It added $1 trillion of market capitalization in less than a year while its key benchmark is setting for its eighth-straight year of increase.
