AIS Accelerates Thai SMEs’ Transformation Through “AIS Infinite SMEs”

AIS Launches “AIS Infinite SMEs” – a new era of collaboration to transform Thai startups and SMEs. Empowering entrepreneurs by unlocking every possibility through the “3S Strategy” to Strengthen, Support, and Soar. AIS equips Thai businesses with knowledge and smart solutions, expanding opportunities for collaboration across public, private, and global networks. Through tailored programs, AIS enhances entrepreneurial skills and fosters sustainable growth, driving Thai SMEs toward international standards and fueling limitless, inclusive economic development.

Somchai Lertsutiwong, Chief Executive Officer of AIS, stated “AIS did not just begin this journey—we have been laying the foundation since the early days when ‘digital’ was still a new concept in Thailand, more than 15 years ago. Through AIS The StartUp, Thailand’s first national-level startup initiative, we sparked the movement that continues to energize the Startup ecosystem today. We take pride in having supported over 100 startups in bringing their products and services to the market, while also empowering entrepreneurs to further develop and expand their businesses into new sectors that align with global trends.

These include the shift from urban transportation systems (Urban Mobility) to more environmentally friendly transportation systems (Green Mobility), driven by green technology. We have supported this progress through the provision of knowledge and high-potential digital infrastructure, and we are truly pleased to see various sectors working together to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs to drive the future of Thailand’s economy.

Aligned with AIS’s Vision: “AI for Sustainable Nation” which aims to harness the power of intelligent networks and AI to elevate all sectors of the country, including the SME sector, toward sustainable growth. This vision has led to the launch of AIS Infinite SMEs, a new mission dedicated to unlocking limitless growth opportunities and raising Thai SMEs to international standards.

This is driven by the ‘3S Strategy’: Skill: Equipping SMEs with the right digital skills for stable and differentiated growth in today’s business landscape. System: Strengthening the back-end infrastructure to meet international standards and support long-term scalability. Soar: Expanding opportunities through strong, certified systems—such as ISO standards—that enhance credibility among partners and investors, ultimately enabling access to new growth channels.”

The Mission of AIS Infinite SMEs Operates Under the Concept of “Transformation and Standardization”
This approach is built upon three key pillars:

  • Infinite Skills: Empowering Thai SMEs nationwide through knowledge, supported by AIS Academy, certified under ISO 30401 for knowledge management. Courses focus on IT, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship, with practical, easy-to-apply online content developed in partnership with F11/Wecosystem to help business owners grow in the real world.
  • International Standards: Elevate Thai SMEs to global levels through collaboration with the Federation of Thai Industries and depa, promoting ISO 29110, a specialized standard for software SMEs. Thailand also sees its first launch of an ISO Marketplace for SMEs under this initiative.
  • Infinite Scales: Developed the Transformative Infinite SME program to support SMEs in transition — including both scale-up businesses and next-generation family business successors who are taking over and advancing their family enterprises. The program is a collaborative effort with partners from the public and private sectors, financial institutions, and industry experts, including the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), the mai Listed Company Association (maiA), the Association of Family Business Entrepreneurs (AFBE), and F11/Wecosystem.

Apichit Prasoprat, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), stated “Thailand’s current economic structure is facing challenges from multiple fronts—both domestically and internationally. These include the U.S. tax measures, rapid technological advancement, and the intensifying environmental crisis, all of which directly impact production systems and shift consumer behavior. These factors have given rise to new business trends, particularly the ESG framework, which has become a critical competitive factor on the global stage.

Amidst these changes, more than 99% of Thai businesses remain small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are the backbone of our economy. Strengthening their capabilities and raising their operational standards is therefore essential to ensure their long-term adaptability and sustainable growth.

For this reason, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) has partnered with AIS to support and develop Thai SMEs across multiple dimensions — whether through encouraging international standard certifications such as ISO 29110, or establishing the Small & Medium Industrial Institute (SMI) to uplift industrial SMEs toward stronger growth. Additionally, we are committed to advancing Thai businesses through the ‘4 Go’ strategies: Go Digital & AI, Go Innovation, Go Global, and Go Green.

We are also advocating for the production of goods and services under the “Made in Thailand (MiT)” initiative—encouraging Thai people to buy and trust in Thai-made products, while enhancing their value and strengthening the competitiveness of local businesses both domestically and internationally. This aligns with our broader goal of reinforcing the national economy and cultivating pride in Thai craftsmanship.

Ultimately, this collaboration is not just about advancing digital technology for the business sector, but about forging a shared commitment to create new opportunities and establish a solid foundation for Thailand’s future economy.”

“AIS has always believed that for Thailand and its businesses to grow sustainably, every sector must advance together. Like a school of fish swimming in harmony, each part of the ecosystem contributes to a stronger, more stable Thai economy. AIS Infinite SMEs was born from this belief—to energize and empower Thai SMEs, acting as a central partner that connects every opportunity, co-creates value, and co-navigates the path toward limitless economic growth.” Somchai concluded.
