SQ Ensures Max Efficiency of Operation in Mae Moh following Landslide Incident

Sahakol Equipment Public Company Limited (SET: SQ) has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand of a preliminary clarification regarding the landslide incident that occurred in the Mae Moh Lignite Mine area, Lampang Province, owned by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). This incident impacts the operations of the Mae Moh Project 8 and Mae Moh Project 8/1, which the company operates, as follows:

On 4 November 2025, at approximately 04:10 a.m., a landslide and subsidence occurred in the Waste Dump Area on the western side of the Mae Moh Mine, which is not an operational area under the company’s responsibility.

The sliding earth moved a long distance down to the area where the company’s office and part of the Mae Moh Project 8 work area are located. This prompted EGAT to declare a state of emergency in the area and cordoned off the site for safety, requiring the company to temporarily suspend operations for Mae Moh Project 8.

Based on preliminary inspection, the company’s damaged assets include parts of the office building and maintenance workshop, some sections of the Mae Moh Project 8 earth conveyor belt structure, and other operational machinery. The company is currently conducting a detailed inspection and compiling the full value of the damages.

Management Approach and Mitigation Plan

1) The company can continue to operate Mae Moh Project 8/1, which is in the coal mining and hauling phase, according to the contract. Simultaneously, the company will adjust the operational model and methods of the available major machinery to ensure maximum efficiency in generating revenue and mitigating the impact on the company’s operations.

2) All damaged assets of the company are fully covered by insurance. The company will proceed with claiming compensation from the insurance company promptly.

3) The company is currently evaluating the damage and impact on its assets, including the future operational plan for both projects. The company is committed to collaborating with EGAT to resolve the issues, mitigate the impact, and accelerate the restoration of operations, prioritizing employee safety, to enable the company to resume coal and earth moving operations according to the schedule as soon as possible.
