NYSE Maintains Holiday Trading Schedule despite Trump Executive Order

The New York Stock Exchange has stated that it will adhere to its previously announced trading hours during the holiday season, regardless of a newly issued executive order from President Donald Trump mandating that federal government offices close.

On Thursday, the White House issued an order declaring federal offices closed on both December 24 and December 26, 2025, effectively granting federal employees an extended break around the Christmas holiday.

In a notice published on the NYSE website, the exchange confirmed it will proceed with an early close at 1:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 (Christmas Eve), with late trading extending until 5:00 p.m. ET. Trading will resume for a full session on Friday, December 26, 2025.

This operating schedule covers all platforms under the NYSE Group, including NYSE American Equities, NYSE Arca Equities, NYSE American Options, NYSE Arca Options, NYSE Bonds, FINRA/NYSE TRF, NYSE BQT, NYSE National, and NYSE Texas.
