Thai Airways Shareholders Approve Board Expansion with Nine New Directors Joining the Seats

Thai Airways International’s annual general meeting on December 19, 2025, saw shareholders approve an increase in the company’s board size from 11 to 15 members, with nine directors selected to join the current team.

The newly formed 15-member board will feature Mr. Chai Eamsiri, who secured the highest number of votes. The list are as follows:

  1. Mrs. Charita Leelayudth — Director
  2. Mrs. Chananyarak Phetcharat — Director
  3. Mr. Yol Phokasub — Director
  4. Mr. Plakorn Wanglee — Independent Director
  5. Mr. Rapee Sucharitakul — Independent Director
  6. Mr. Vachara Tuntariyanond — Independent Director
  7. Dr. Veerathai Santiprabhob — Independent Director
  8. Mr. Chai Eamsiri — Director (proposed for re-election)
  9. Air Chief Marshal Amnart Jeeramaneemai — Independent Director

However, two candidates nominated by major shareholders with at least a 5% stake in the company—Dr. Pracha Koonnathamdee representing the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand Savings Cooperative and Mr. Chansin Treenuchagron from Bangkok Bank—did not win sufficient support.

The reshuffle is expected to pave the way for the airline’s board to accelerate key decisions as it undergoes transformation efforts. The vote outcome, sourced from the official shareholder meeting, highlights a significant leadership refresh for the national carrier.
