TFEX Resumes Trading in Silver Online Futures following Brief Suspension after Price Limit Hit

Trading in Silver Online Futures on the Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX) has restarted after a short interruption triggered by a sharp price movement. The halt was implemented when contracts fell by 10% from their last settlement value, reminding investors of the market’s volatility controls.

On February 6, 2026, TFEX intervened by temporarily suspending Silver Online Futures trading at 10:24:22, when the derivative hit the daily allowable price change threshold. The exchange pointed to its established procedures for managing rapid market fluctuations as the reason for the pause.

During the break, the market was placed in a “Pre-Open” state, allowing participants to prepare for renewed activity. Full trading resumed two minutes later, at 10:26:22, as outlined by TFEX’s official timeline.

To address continued volatility, TFEX adjusted its risk parameters by expanding the daily price movement limit for Silver Online Futures to ±20% of the most recent settlement price. The exchange stated this measure is intended to better accommodate significant price swings while still maintaining market order.
