ATLAS Sees Over 60% Surge in Auto LPG Conversion Customers amid Rising Oil Prices

Suwatchai Pitakwongsaporn, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Atlas Energy Public Company Limited (SET: ATLAS), revealed that due to the rising energy prices, domestic oil prices have increased by THB 6 per liter. This has led both private and commercial vehicle users to turn toward alternative energy sources that help reduce costs, especially LPG gas, which has lower costs and less volatility compared to oil prices.

The surge in oil prices has increased the number of customers of the PT LPG Auto & Taxi Transform service, which install and convert vehicle fuel systems to use LPG, by over 60% per month compared to the previous period of about 400-500 vehicles. This reflects the demand among consumers seeking to control fuel costs during a time when energy and other fuel prices remain high.

Suwatchai further stated that the trend of switching to LPG continues to grow, particularly during times of high oil price volatility. The company’s PT LPG Auto & Taxi Transform project, which converts cars from using only oil to being able to use both oil and LPG in the same vehicle, offers another alternative to reduce fuel costs for private car drivers, taxis, cars-for-hire, and commercial vehicles that have high energy costs.

The project helped increase LPG sales in the automotive sector and strengthened the ecosystem of the PTG group, connecting the business of PT service stations with the Max Card member system as well as the advertising business, driving sustainable long-term business growth and generating stable returns for shareholders.
