On Thursday, Thailand’s SET Index closed the morning trading session at 1,600.60 points, showing an increase of 12.54 points or 0.79%, with a trading value of THB 54.61 billion.
Pi Securities stated that the Thai stock market performed well during the morning session, contrary to most Asian markets, which declined in response to losses on Wall Street following renewed conflict in the Middle East.
The Thai bourse was supported primarily by the rise of large-cap stocks, particularly GULF, DELTA, and ADVANC, which benefitted from positive sentiment surrounding investments in data centers—a trend reflecting global growth expectations. Additionally, AOT was buoyed by higher tourist numbers in May compared to the previous year, while the energy sector saw gains on the back of surging crude oil prices.
For the afternoon session, the market is expected to continue trading in positive territory, with support and resistance levels seen at 1,590 points and 1,610 points, respectively.
The five stocks with the highest trading value were as follows:
- GULF: trading value at THB 6.72 billion, closed at THB 67.75, up THB 3.25 or 5.04%
- AOT: trading value at THB 4.32 billion, closed at THB 58.50, up THB 2.25 or 4.00%
- SCB: trading value at THB 4.03 billion, closed at THB 140.00, up THB 2.50 or 1.82%
- DELTA: trading value at THB 2.84 billion, closed at THB 359.00, up THB 4.00 or 1.13%
- BBL: trading value at THB 2.19 billion, closed at THB 173.50, down THB 2.00 or 1.14%
