Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited (SET: GUNKUL) has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand, with reference to recent news reports concerning a fire incident allegedly occurring at the Pattani Yaring Solar Farm Project (GSPG-PTN), that the area where the incident occurred is not part of the project site.
Rather, the area is a parcel of land leased from local residents and located approximately 800 meters from the group’s project site. The company has been using the area as a temporary storage site for equipment during the construction phase. The situation has been properly managed and brought under control, and no injuries have been reported.
The incident was limited in scope, and only a small number of solar panels sustained minor damage. The losses arising from such damage are fully covered under the applicable insurance policy. Accordingly, the incident does not have any material impact on the company’s financial position or operating results.
Furthermore, the company continues to proceed with the construction of the project in accordance with the planned schedule and expects to achieve the Commercial Operation Date (COD) as originally scheduled.
In addition, the company is arranging for replacement equipment to substitute for the damaged equipment. The company has also coordinated with all relevant state security authorities to enhance preventive measures and strengthen security arrangements.
