CK Offloads 1.3-Billion-Baht BEM Stake via Big-Lot Deal

On 24 September 2026, CH. Karnchang Public Company Limited (SET: CK) executed a major equity placement by selling 200 million shares of Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (SET: BEM) in a block trade valued at 1.3 billion baht, according to a source in the financial market.

The transaction was completed across eight separate big-lot orders on the SET Big Lot Board at an average price of 6.50 baht per share, representing a 6.47% discount relative to BEM’s previous closing price of 6.95 baht.

As BEM’s largest shareholder, CK held 6,459,449,984 shares, representing a 42.26% stake in the transit and infrastructure operator prior to the divestment. The principal objective of offloading this tranche was to enhance market liquidity by boosting BEM’s free float by an additional 1.31%.

The report indicated that the transaction was an overnight deal on 23 September, arranged by Kiatnakin Phatra Securities (KKP), which served as the placement agent directing the shares to domestic institutional investors. Institutional appetite for the offering was exceptionally strong, resulting in an order book oversubscribed by more than seven times the available allocation and signaling high market confidence in BEM’s core business fundamentals.
