US Futures Rise as AI Momentum Offsets Bond Yields Pressure

U.S. equity futures moved higher Tuesday, supported by continued strength in technology and artificial intelligence-linked shares. The gains suggested investors were still prioritizing earnings expectations and AI demand despite pressure from a global bond sell-off and elevated diesel costs.

At 4:21 p.m. (Bangkok Time), Nasdaq-100 futures advanced 0.25% after the Nasdaq Composite closed at a new peak. The move followed fresh highs in Nvidia and other large technology names, keeping attention on the sector’s role in driving broader market gains.

Meanwhile, contracts tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.5%. S&P 500 futures were also 0.22% higher, with the benchmark index trading less than 1% below its record level.

AI-related names posted strong moves. SpaceX climbed more than 7%, Tesla gained over 2%, and Meta Platforms and Microsoft each rose more than 1%.

Technology shares also drew support after Foxconn, a Taiwan-based Nvidia partner, reported solid earnings. The result pointed to continued global demand for AI infrastructure, while investors tracked Nvidia as its market value moved closer to $6 trillion.

In commodities, crude prices declined Tuesday. Brent futures dropped 1.45% to $98.87 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate fell 1.73% to $87.88.

Treasury yields remained a key market focus. The 10-year yield briefly moved above 5.3%, revisiting levels last seen in 2002, before easing to around 5.27%. The 30-year yield topped 5.7% at one stage, its highest level in 24 years, then pulled back toward 5.63%.

The next major policy signal is expected Wednesday, when traders will review minutes from the Federal Reserve’s September meeting for more detail on officials’ rate decision.
