Thai Stock Market Outlook on 9 October 2026

Brokers project negative outlooks for the Thai stock market, as elevated bond yields and currency conditions continue to weigh on capital flows. Furthermore, weakness in the global technology sector has also dulled investors’ risk appetite.

TISCO Securities expects the Thai benchmark to decline and consolidate under pressure from strong U.S. Treasury yields and dollar, which led to an outflow of foreign capitals following yesterday’s mass selling.

Investors’ focus is shifting toward corporate earnings, the analyst noted, including results from U.S. companies, where markets are assessing AI-related spending and profit growth. In Thailand, bank earnings for the third quarter of 2026 are scheduled for release next week.

The securities firm set a support level for the SET Index 1,565 points, with a deeper level at 1,550 – 1,555 points. Meanwhile, a resistance level was given at 1,585 – 1,590 points.

Daol Securities also anticipates the Thai benchmark to face headwinds from a cautious investment backdrop, particularly weakness in technology shares. That sentiment could weigh on domestic electronics stocks.

However, Daol said the recent rise in crude oil prices may provide some support to energy counters, helping limit broader index losses. As earnings season becomes more central to trading decisions, the brokerage recommends investors track companies with solid fundamentals.

Yesterday, Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,570.61 points, decreasing by 14.02 points or 0.88%, with a trading value of THB 63.64 billion.
