Market Roundup 27 October 2026

Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,575.02 points, decreasing by 4.01 points or 0.25%, with a trading value of THB 67.04 billion. The analyst stated that the Thai stock market traded sideways within a narrow range, and partially stabilized following yesterday’s rally. This was due to a lack of new drivers.

Meanwhile, the market faced selling pressure from DELTA ahead of its earnings release, as investors raised concerns over the firm’s 3Q26 performance. Nevertheless, buying interest in the oil, petrochemical, and banking sectors helped support the broader market.

For tomorrow, the analyst expects the Thai benchmark to continue moving sideways within range.

The Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) has announced that during the first nine months of 2026, the nation has welcomed 1,954 applications for investment promotion, with a total investment value of THB 1,707,430 million.

This represents an increase of 28% compared to the same period last year, reflecting the global trend of investment relocation driven by geopolitical pressures and technological advancement.

Thailand’s cabinet has authorized a THB 50 billion rooftop solar programme offering THB 50,000 in support to each of one million households. The household subsidies are intended to reduce energy-related living expenses while encouraging a shift to clean power.

South Korea’s economic growth in 2027 could lose about 0.4 percentage points if major U.S. technology companies scale back artificial intelligence investment next year, a Bank of Korea analysis shows. Under that scenario, semiconductor export revenue would fall $50 billion to $100 billion short of previous projections.
