India and Pakistan have reached a mutual agreement to enact an “immediate ceasefire,” as announced by President Donald Trump on Saturday. This development comes in the wake of escalating tensions and military exchanges between the neighboring countries.
“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE,” wrote Trump on his Truth Social platform.
Both leaderships in Pakistan and India corroborated the ceasefire arrangement.
Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar reaffirmed the ceasefire, reiterating India’s steadfast position against terrorism in any form. According to Vikram Misri, India’s Foreign Secretary, the ceasefire is scheduled to commence at 5 p.m. local time on Saturday.
